Pres. Becky
Roseman salutes
our 42nd year of service to our communities.
The
Mission
The
Kiwanis Club of Greater Davis, Division
7 of the California-Nevada-Hawaii
District participates in many community service
projects in Davis and the surrounding area. Our major focus is the well
being of the youth and seniors of our communities. We try to contribute
toward meeting those needs.
Our
Parent
Kiwanis
International
is a worldwide organization devoted to the principle of service; to the
advancement of individual, community and national welfare; and to the
strengthening of international goodwill. There are 13,000 clubs
throughout the world with 600,000 total memberships in 96 nations.
Our California-Nevada-Hawaii
District is the largest with 1,467 clubs and 55,971 members.
Our
City
The City
of Davis is
a unique university and residential community internationally known for
its commitment to implementing progressive and innovative programs.
Located in Yolo County just 13 miles west of Sacramento on Interstate
80, 10 miles south of Woodland on Highway 113 and an approximate hour
drive from San Francisco and the Bay Area. The city's quality of life is
reflected in many well-known symbols; energy conservation, double-decker
buses, and of course, bicycles (one bike for each of the 50,000
residents). Bicycles are a large part of the Davis culture, and in fact,
they symbolize the more relaxed pace of the community. Our club is a
member of the Davis
Area Chamber of Commerce.
